Shangri La - La La La...

I was in Kota Kinabalu on 27th – 28th May for the 3rd Sabah Gas Forum, organized by SBO. The forum was very well organized, and the hotel I stayed in – Shangri La Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa, is beyond expectation!

I have been to many hotels but none (so far) can surpass this hotel. The hospitality is superb! The hotel is just 10 minutes away from the KK International Airport, but due to construction works along the road, it took about 20 minutes to reach the hotel. After the 2 ½ hour flight (plus 1 hour drive from office to KLIA), I was weary and exhausted and all I wanted to do just to have a nice warm bath and lie down on a comfy bed.

But when I arrived at the hotel and greeted by a staff even before I step out from my cab, my weariness went away. Instead of being I-am-tired-and-not-interested-to-talk-or-smile-, I became Miss All-Smiling-and-Friendly. But the best part had yet to come. I was ushered not to the reception counter, but to the stylish sofa placed at the reception area. The best thing about this hotel is you don’t have to stand by the counter for the check-in; in fact they come to you! All you have to do is sit back and relax on the sofa and enjoy a glass of limed water, just like I did. Very impressive!

The moment I stepped into my room, I fell in love instantly. The room is spacious, and warmly decorated, and facing a mini golf course and the South China Sea. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my camera, but I managed to snap few pictures using my camera phone. :)

And look at the view, it's breathtaking!

Just when I thought I couldn’t be impressed more, the phone inside my room rang 10 minutes after I entered. And it was the front desk, asking me if the room is satisfactory and whether I need any assistance. Cool eh?

PETRONAS is at risk?

Read <here>

I personally don't like this, the "interference" in the running of the company. God knows what their interest is all about.

Rumor has it. Whether it's true or not, I can only hope "these people" know what they are doing.
All these while, Petronas has managed to remain free for any direct or indirect political interference. The formula works perfectly, so why need to "fix the unbroken"?

Please, do not smudge the company's integrity and reputation.
For heaven's sake, think of the poor people in the country, the anak-anak yatim...

I pray to Allah, and let's pray with me.

Amer Bobok

Tgh syok dok surf net. Amer buat perangai.
Nangis tiba-tiba. Screaming out of his lung.
Pujuk, dukung, riba, dodoi, bagi susu semua tak jalan.

Until, I sing this to his ear....
"Amer bobok, Amer bobok.. Dududududududu dudu dudu dudu..."

Terus tido.

Aik, takkan nak bibik dia kot. Haaa, sudah.

But wait till you hear the full version of the lullaby.

"Amer bobok, Amer bobok...Kalau tidak bobok, digigit nyamuk.... "
"Nyamuk ape, nyamuk malaria, nyamuk malaria hisap darah Amer........."

Erk.

* Bobok = Tidur in Indonesian language

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amer is now 6 mths old. Feels like only yesterday i held him in my arms for the first time.
These are the latest pics of him. Look at my boy, isn't he adorable? :)

Main main

While browsing through my frens' and frens of frens' blogs, I came across this one interesting tagging game - list of questions to gauge how well you know your husband....

Suddenly i feel the urge to tag myself (hehe. aci dok?). So here it goes...

1. He’s sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?
Discovery Channel.

2. You’re out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad?
Just Olive Oil, if he get it himself.

3. What’s one food he doesn’t like?
Nothing in particular, but he doesn't like internal organs like peparu, hati, limpa etc...

4. You go out to eat and have a drink. What does he order?
Teh O Panas, teh tarik. Coffee during breakfast.

5. Where did he go to high school?
MRSM PC, like myself :)

6. What size shoes does he wear?
EIGHT - I remember this because on one Friday noon, after solat jumaat, he asked me to buy him a new pair of sandal because the one he's wearing was stolen. We were at KLCC masa tu.

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be?
Watches. Jerseys.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
Beef bacon/ salami.

9. What would this person eat every day if he could?
AfterEight.

10. What is his favorite cereal?
CocoCrunch.

11. What would he never wear?
Err, pink?

12. What is his favorite sports team?
Chelsea.

13. Who did he vote for?
Tomok (Hehe, joking). He didn't tell, but i know...hehe. Sshh, can't say it here.

14. Who is his best friend?
Che Din, Amer, Che Zaki...

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn’t do?
Keep quite and refuse to talk when i'm angry.

16. What is his heritage?
Melayu, although sometimes dia perasan he's caucasian.

17. What is his favorite colour?
Black kot, err, ke blue?

18. What is his habit?
Make (strange) noises kalau dia gatal tekak.

19. What is he proud of?
Apart from his (so-called) caucasian look?? Hahaha. I would say his family.

20. Lastly, do you think he will read this?
Yes. In six months time.

So dear, when you finally read this, how did i score?

Spot the differences!

Well, they are not exactly the same, but they do look alike, isn't it? The left pic is Anis, she was about 5 months old when the pic was taken, and the right one is Amer, flashing his tiny little thing.
Hehe, so damn cute !

ASTRO - macam2 ada?

Memang la macam-macam ada....charges pun macam2 ada...

1. Reconnection Fee : RM 20.00 for re-activating the suspended/terminated subscription
2. Switching Fee : RM 10.00 for downgrading/changes of package at the same price

Yang no 1 tu memang la dah tau (and I totally disagree!). Yang no 2 tu I just found out when I wanted to add Fun package to my ASTRO subscription. Nak tukar/ add package pun kena charge???? Dah la monthly fees mahal nak mampus. Dah tu, time hujan bukannya ade satellite signal.

Ni yang rasa cam nak bukak stesen TV sendiri ni...

Bad Monday!

Today is the worst traffic jam ever!!!!

I don't know why, but it must've been Monday, and all (by all, i mean ALL) KL people are anxious to go home early. Can't blame them, coz i'm one of them....

Anyways, got out from office at 5.20, only to arrive home 2 hrs later! Note : It took only 20 mins to reach home on any normal days.

So damn tired, I was fighting to stay awake, really!...nasib baik tak langgar keta depan...

Btw, i'm all alone in the house now. My babies are in Ipoh (tsk...tsk..) with their Atuk and Wan. Long story, but to cut it short, my maid was supposed to come back yesterday (Sunday), but there was delay in her permit endorsement etc. Nak ambik cuti pun segan sebab tempat baru, so we had no choice but to send them to my IL.

Hmm..hope they're doing fine now. How i missed them terribly.....

"Sabar ye sayang, Khamis ni Mama and Papa balik ye...."

Next-Favourite Question

Scene 1
Me : Aku dah kena transfer ke KL ni...
Anonymous : Oh! Ye ke? Bila?
Me : 1st April report duty..
Anonymous : Husband ko?

Scene 2
Anonymous : Dah kena transfer ye? Bila pindah?
Me : 1st April report duty.
Anonymous : Tak lama dah tu. Laki ko?

Scene 3
Anonymous : Eh Nani! Dengar citer ko nak pindah KL?
Me : Aah..dah dapat dah transfer letter.
Anonymous : Habih tu..Azmir camner?

As much as i appreciate those concerns, I have to say that I'm sick and tired of it. I don't have definite answer, and please stop counselling me. So what if I'm going to be a single mother in the hectic city? So what if you think i made a daring move?

We had thought about this. And we both think this is the best for our family. Well, we are not going to be apart for a long period of time. We do believe Allah has a good plan for us. It's just that the time hasn't come yet.

So, please stop asking me that next-favourite question. Coz I don't have the answer.

Contd...

I'm not a fan of PR. The thing is I loathe BN so much that I will vote for any party, even a "Parti Cap Ayam" if that (action of mine) could topple the BN government.

I'm not a Perakian either, but these (and the fact that they all happened in less than 2 weeks) are bothering me:

1) 2 PKR ADUNs went missing since 26th Jan. They then appeared and declared themselves as independent state assemblymen and support BN.
2) 1 BN ADUN declared he was leaving Barisan Nasional (BN) and joined PKR, and re-joined BN only 10 days later.
3) Ni aku tak paham : 1 DAP ADUN muncul on the news and said that she's still a DAP member and would not defect the party. A few days later, she declared herself independent and gave her support to BN.

Coincidence?

I don't think so!

Hot & Cold

"You, change your mind, like a girl, change her clothes"

Lagu ini saya tujukan buat Datuk Nasaruddin Hashim, ADUN Perak yang sibuk bermain "Lompat si Katak Lompat", lompat dari BN dan masuk PKR, dan lompat balik ke BN 10 hari kemudian...What the fish was he thinking??? And to dare to make a statement like "I have made such a decision with respect to my constituents and the principle of democracy after considering the unstable and confusing political situation in Perak, which created a shaky state government."

Err..excuse me, but weren't you the one who created this mess????

It's a political turmoil in Perak now. Memang sejarah, di mana demokrasi diperkotak-katikkan oleh mereka yang gila kuasa, rasuah bermaharajalela, kehendak rakyat langsung tak diendah....

Dah tak tau nak cakap ape. Furious, hatred, sad, all mixed up!

Harga barang naik sape yg tengok? Ekonomi merudum sape yang ambik tau? Sape yang bela nasib orang2 miskin?

Come on la!

To BIJAN, Nasa and the other 3 ADUNs (and whomever is concerned) : YOU ALL DISGUST ME! YOU KILLED THE DEMOCRACY IN THIS COUNTRY! YOU HAD RUINED THE SYSTEM, YOU FILTHY, DIRTY POLITICIANS! THE PEOPLE HATED YOU, WE DESPISE YOU! AND TO BE OUR LEADERS? SHAME ON YOU!

p/s Meanwhile, Sirul, the accused in the murder of that Mongolian woman had finally spoken out. read here

Do you smell a fish?? I do.

Semoga Allah S.W.T. memberi kemenangan kepada pihak yang benar. Amin.

Who's laughing now?

Two years ago, I didn’t even bother to know what's-going-on with the politics in our country. But since the formation of Kerajaan Tiga Beranak by You-Know-Who, I had became a more concerned citizen, still paying my tax but began to wonder where all the money goes….

PAS had won the P-36 Kuala Terengganu by-election yesterday with majority of 2,636.

This had told another, yet the same story….

The people want change! We are no longer the old-Malaysian, we are more mature, we want a strong government, bukan yang cakap tak serupa bikin, and most importantly, we want our money to be spent wisely by a competent government.

Stop with the ego…accept the fact and make the change!

Naa....! Naaa!

I woke up this morning with a deafening sound in my head, shouting “Naa…!Naa…!”

Others may find it annoying.

But to me, it's the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.

It's the voice of my little Anis, trying to wake me up (her version of "mama").

p/s And of course, that sound come with a smack on my face...but who really cares? :p

Happy New Year!!!

A very belated New Year wish from me…

Everyone is making their new year’s resolution; I don’t want to be left out.

So, apakah azam tahun baru saya?

A cliché statement would be : “My new year’s resolution is to be a better person, a better daughter to my parents, a better wife to my husband, a better mom to my kids, a better employee to my boss.. bla..bla..bla”. Yelah tu…

Hmm, what do I want to achieve by end of 2009? Let’s see….(not in priority order) :

1) To pass my assessment and gets promoted
I went for the interview last year with other 3 colleagues of mine, they all passed except me. Nak kata I did badly, takde la sangat (I think), although ada one tiny mistake I made during the interview. Hmm, so not fair (sejak bila pulak life ni fair kan?). Anyway, my boss who was also the interviewer tried to pujuk me (kononnya) and told me that for the bad thing that happens to us, there’ll always be a good thing to come. Hmm..sure did! A week later, I found myself pregnant with our second child. How’s that??! And that beautiful thing is lying next to me right now…so adorable…:)

2) Kuruskan badan (sambungan dari azam 2008)
Takde la sampai nak Heidi Klum’s body or Erra Fazira’s, but as a lady who still wears her maternity pants, this had to be put on top of my priority list. Weight is really not the issue; it’s the flabbiness that’s bothering me. I envy Rasha who came back from her maternity leave, wearing kebaya to the office. And Hana, a mother of two who doesn’t look like one. And me? I can’t even squeeze myself into my old jeans! (Perlu ke beli jeans baru???)

3) Upgrade my Kelisa (read : Buy a new car)
Boleh ke masuk ni dalam resolution’s list? Anyway, as a proud owner of a yellow Kelisa for more than 6 years, I think it’s the right time to get a new car, don’t you think? Mr Husband is against this, for now….at least. Perhaps this can wait another year, tengok la macam mana nanti…..:p

4) Update this blog more often (Although rasa cam susah je)

There you go! Whether those will come true or not, we just have to wait until end of 2009 to find out....*wink* wink*...
